Welcome to Trail to the Cross

A combination of a passion for Christ and a love of rodeo and the western lifestyle led to the development of this organization.  Our goal is to impact lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We strive to accomplish this through our annual Rodeo Bible Camp, and other events.

Important Details for 2015 Camp

  • Check in is June 2nd from 3-5pm
  • Every camper is required to attend all scheduled activities
  • Lunch will be provided at Saturday's Rodeo/Awards  to all attendees- Saturday itinerary will be provided at check in
  • Camp is closed to all outsiders until Saturday
  • No dogs are permitted on camp grounds
  • No alcohol or tobacco is permitted
  • Clearly mark all belongings with campers name
  • If possible, plan to leave you trailer for tack and hay storage
  • In case of family emergency only, campers may be reached at 573-578-0292 or 573-263-0985
  • TTTC will not be providing horses for campers
  • Price includes food, lodging , and instruction
  • Campers will be staying in boys/girls climate controlled cabins with bathrooms and showers

What to Bring to Camp

  • bedroll/sleeping bag or sheets to fit a twin bed and a pillow
  • personal care/bath items including toothbrush-toothpaste-shampoo-towel
  • clean clothing for each day including a long sleeve western shirt, boots, jeans, and a cowboy hat for the rodeo on Saturday, and  appropriate swimming clothing (Boys and girls should bring appropriate clothing that would meet school dress code requirements, please no cutoff shirts, shorts, or spaghetti strap tops)
  • Bible, notebook, flashlight, sunscreen, and bug repellant
  • Timed events/horsemanship should bring all tack for their horses ( halters, lead ropes, bridles, saddles, bits, saddle blankets, ropes etc)
  • Feed, hay, and buckets for water and grain ( prepare to bring enough hay and grain for your horse for morning and evening feedings each day, also there is a large break in the afternoon and horses can be offered additional hay) (Horses are housed in panel stalls)
  • Rodeo gear if you have it, if not, let us know what you need!
  • Cell phones and electronic devices are not allowed ( no ipods, ipads, tablets, etc) These items will be confiscated by TTTC staff and held until the end of camp ( You will be too tired to use them anyway!)






From I-44 Take the St James, Mo Exit 195 and head south through town on Highways 8/68.  When Highway 8 and 68 split, take Highway 68 south towards Salem. Stay on 68 for 6.4 miles to NN. Turn left on NN and follow it 3.2 miles until the pavement ends.  On Benton Creek Road, cross Benton Creek (carefully) on the slab bridge, go 1/10 miles and turn left on Mound Ridge Road, go 1.3 miles to Whispering Winds Bible Camp. You can check your horse in first at the arena and unload supplies and trailer, then come up to the camp to check in your camper.
